Paul grew up in Toledo, Ohio. He graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1969. Then went on to attend the University of Toledo and simultaneously he entered a four year apprenticeship with the Operating Engineers of Ohio. 

After graduating from the four year apprenticeship he began his building career by building homes in Toledo, Sylvania and Ottawa Hills. In 1988, he expanded his business to the greater Columbus, Ohio area; building homes in Worthington, Powell, Marysville and Delaware. All the homes have been personalized for each homeowner; having built more than 250 homes, no two the same. His wife, Phyllis Craver, is a residential designer, a cabinet and woodworking designer, along with being an allied member of ASID. They have been happily married for over 40 years and working together successfully for longer.
